Courtney Love is having a tumultuous week. Following recent blog-feuds with Billy Corgan and Ryan Adams – not to mention a newly scribed rant about Madonna – the widow of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain is being sued for $975,000 by London & Co.

Love allegedly failed to pay the management firm its commissions for the partial sale of her share of Cobain's songbook. Courtney reaped $19.5 million in the 2007 deal but has yet to pony up the five percent fee London & Co. asserts it is owed. Ironically, Love threw stones at Ryan Adams in a MySpace post this past Saturday, claiming she was herself the victim of a financial misdeed.

It seems there were "29 American Express cards that [she] didn't know existed that were connected to a few hundred bank accounts" and only recently discovered that there was an $858,000 tab she alleges belongs to Adams. In a lengthy rant, Love wrote of how the Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter somehow financed his 2003 album 'Rock N Roll' and all related expenses from an account that is tied to her daughter Frances Bean Cobain's trust fund money.

When Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher wanted to get down to work on his band's new album last December, he hit a snag as he found out that London's legendary Abbey Road Studio was booked by the members of U2. So he did what any self-respecting rock star millionaire would do. He paid off the owners of the facility made famous by the Beatles more than 40 years ago.

"U2 were booked in there with [producer] Rick Rubin," Gallagher tells Mojo of his efforts to get to work on Oasis' forthcoming disc, 'Dig Out Your Soul,' due October 7. "I was like, 'U2? U2 have to have a f---ing six-hour meeting [to decide] whether to get tea or coffee in the rehearsal room! They are not coming in here any time in the next five years.'

"The guy from Abbey Road was like, 'I've got it block-booked for the exact time you want it," Gallagher continues. "We actually went down to Abbey Road with a bag of money and said, 'We can pay for the studio now.'"
John Lydon has denied allegations that racism was a part of an altercation with Kele Okereke. But a backstage incident at Barcelona's Summercase festival last Saturday led to the Bloc Party frontman winding up on the ground with facial bruising and a split lip.

Okereke – a Liverpudlian born to Nigerian parents – claimed Monday that he was assaulted by three members of Rotten's entourage and told, "Your problem is your black attitude." According to Okereke, the man also known as Johnny Rotten became "intimidating and aggressive" when Okereke asked if he would ever re-form his dormant band, Public Image Ltd.

Responding late Monday, the Sex Pistols frontman suggested Okereke started the fight and is using the racist allegation to drum up publicity. "I feel very sorry for a man that needs to lie about what was a perfect evening," Lydon said in a formal statement. "The trouble was brought to us, resulting in those causing the trouble being physically removed by festival security.

"We are in the middle of a wonderful tour. After 30 years we are achieving a true unity in our audience," he added. "They are multi-varied, all ages, all races, creeds and colors. When you are at a festival with bands who are jealous fools, lies and confusion usually follow.

"Grow up and learn to be a true man," Lydon snapped. "When you have achieved as much as I have, come back and talk to me. It's a shame the wonderful world of the media is riddled with nonsense like this."
Pete Doherty was so saddened by the recent tragic death of a 16-year-old English fan that the Babyshambles frontman not only went to the funeral this past Monday but also performed at the wake for his fallen fan's friends. Doherty had met and befriended South Tyneside native Daniel Squires – who died of bone cancer on July 4 – backstage at one of his shows.

"It was a pleasure to have known Daniel; he was such a brave and inspirational person," Doherty told the crowd during the wake, held at the Gold Lion Inn in nearby Jarrow. Sadly, Squires' funeral fell on what would have been his 17th birthday, which Doherty honored by singing 'Happy Birthday to You.'

Despite the heartfelt move, Doherty continues to suffer from bad luck. An arrest warrant was issued for him today after he failed to attend magistrates court for a second time. He is accused of breaking a photographer's camera, causing £200 worth of damage. Doherty – who is currently on tour -- was jailed earlier this year for breaching the terms of his probation and spent 14 weeks in prison.
There are many musicians for whom a drug charge would barely raise an eyebrow, but Barenaked Ladies frontman Steven Page's clean-cut ways hardly fit the profile of a badass blow boy. While the Barenakeds' recent children's record, 'Snacktime,' continues to be all the rage in the under-10 set, Fayetteville, N.Y. police have reported that the 38-year-old Page has been charged with possession of a controlled substance after police – following up on an empty, open-doored car in the street -- saw something suspicious through an apartment window around 2 a.m. Friday morning in Fayetteville, N.Y. In an official statement from the Manlius, N.Y., Police Department, "officers observed a man and woman seated at a kitchen table inside apartment 1 with an unknown white capsule in front of them. During subsequent investigation, officers found the two to be in possession of a white powdery substance that field tested positive for cocaine."

A further search through the home uncovered cannabis and more cocaine; the Ontario-born Page, however, was not hit with a marijuana charge, proving once again that Canadians don't smoke American pot. Two female companions at the residence were also charged. Page's manager Terry McBride has released a statement that he "cannot comment because the matter is before the courts, but we are confident that our client/Steven will be completely exonerated. Until that time it's business as usual for Barenaked Ladies."

The wife of Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood has announced that she is through with the rocker after he ran off with an 18-year-old Russian waitress. The 61-year-old Wood, who has long battled alcoholism, allegedly began his affair with cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova this April, just after the premiere of 'Shine a Light' – Martin Scorsese's documentary about the Stones.

"He's drinking heavily – maybe two bottles of vodka a day," Wood's wife of 23 years, Jo, told British tabloid The Sun last week. When asked if she thought the pair were having an affair, Mrs. Wood stressed, "They're not boyfriend or girlfriend – not in that way."

But there may be more to the relationship than Jo Wood is letting on. Ron's 53-year-old wife was shocked to learn of Ivanova's claims to pals: "I am not taking him – he is leaving." The spurned spouse was of the belief that Ron – an avid painter who co-owns a London art gallery with his sons – and Ekaterina were merely drinking partners who had gone on a "painting holiday" at the Woods' luxury home in Ireland. But after the pair were spotted at local pubs near County Kildare and a revealing portrait of the young barmaid, titled 'Photography Nude II,' surfaced in a Dublin gallery this week, the evidence against Ronnie – who is supposedly worth $140 million – was overwhelming. As a result, the Woods have splintered.
In the "ouch-that-freakin'-hurts" department, Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson (a.k.a. #0) broke both of his heels last week after he jumped off a stage during the first-ever show of the Rockstar Mayhem Festival Tour. But instead of being sidelined by the incident, which occurred in Auburn, Wash., the now-wheelchair-bound Wilson -- sporting casts on both legs -- has vowed to carry on and perform all shows on the masked metal band's summer trek.

As evidenced by the group's Saturday performance in Mountain View, Calif., which indeed found the DJ rocking out in his chair, Wilson is a man of his word. Still, one suspects that #0 will rethink future stage acrobatics while he heals his heels.

Courtney Love has reportedly taken to a social networking site to condemn Billy Corgan because he won't be attending her daughter's Sweet 16 celebration next month. In a bitter and somewhat incoherent tirade last week, Love purportedly took aim at the Smashing Pumpkins frontman and former Hole collaborator on a social forum Web site, calling his behavior "unacceptable" and accusing the guitarist and singer of making her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, cry.

"Corgan, I'm at work and am too tired to find you or get a number that you still have not sent me," Love blogged. "Out of whatever misguided shame thing you're going through (that is a private conversation), you do not make children cry. A sweet sixteen is a big event and I think she looked upon you as family. I know she did, as a trustworthy and wise (child), and you can't lay your s--- on a child of [m]ine, and you as a man of 40 -- my child sobbing, due to you, is unacceptable. I hate stating this on some random public forum, but the line is the kid, man. The line is the kid, and she does not get to shed tears over you. Her family has already done that."

David Lee Roth says the story two Ontario police officers told Canadian reporters this week about having saved the singer's life last month is untrue. Though the cops alleged that they pulled the Van Halen frontman over for speeding in Oakland, Ontario, Roth is calling bull hockey on their claim that they called an ambulance to rescue Roth while he was having a severe allergic reaction to nuts.

"I was in only from July 1st through the 4th with a performance at the Quebec City Summer Festival," Roth told TMZ. "I had no encounters or incidents with the police. The only thing I'm allergic to is criticism."

So much for the law-enforcement claims that Diamond Dave went into anaphylactic shock from eating Blue Diamond nuts. And sorry, Sammy Hagar, looks like you're still out of VH.
Phil Spector is being sued for unpaid royalties by a number of his former artists, including his ex-wife and Ronettes frontwoman, one Ronnie Greenfield (a.k.a. Ronnie Spector), Darlene Love (who sang lead on several Crystals hits as well as recording under her own name) and Fanita James -- who was in Bob B. Soxx and the Blue Jeans with Love -- are among the others listed as plaintiffs in the suit against the famed yet troubled record producer and his three companies.

Legendary for his Wall of Sound approach in the studio, Phil Spector has allegedly skipped making twice-yearly royalty payments to the aforementioned artists. The suit claims that "despite due demand, Spector has wrongfully refused and continues wrongfully to refuse to account to or to pay plaintiffs the amounts owed."

The documents, obtained by TMZ.com, insist that "each of the plaintiffs has been injured as a result of Spector's breaches of contract or, in the case of the Ronettes, of a stipulated judgment in such amount as they shall prove at trial."

Spector is no stranger to the courtroom, spending much of 2007 on trial for the 2003 murder of actress Lana Clarkson, who died at his California home. Ruled a mistrial last September when jurors couldn't agree unanimously on a guilty verdict, the case is set to be retried on September 29.
What better way to say "I'm sorry and please come back to me" than a bleeding heart message on YouTube? One with an acoustic guitar and footage of you and your ex kissing, of course. Or so that's what Pete Doherty must be hoping. "I miss your face, I miss the places that I once knew/But I don't like this space, this absence laced with insomnia/I'm caught in Bohemian Love," sings Doherty in 'Bohemian Love' to his ex-love Kate Moss, who is now dating the Kills' Jamie Hince. Sure beats a Candygram.

What do you do when your world famous frontman isn't down for that long-awaited reunion tour? If you're Bruce Foxton and Rick Buckler, two-thirds of the legendary trio the Jam, you soldier forward without him.

In the absence of Paul Weller -- who has continued to have a successful career since the Jam's 1982 demise -- the rhythm section behind U.K. chart topping hits like 'Going Underground,' 'Start!,' 'A Town Called Malice' and 'Beat Surrender' has established a touring quartet known as From the Jam. Rounding out the revival, Foxton and Buckler have tapped Russell Hastings and Dave Moore, two members of a Jam tribute band.

Hastings and Moore took the name of their cover band -- the Gift -- from the Jam's 1982 studio album of the same name. According to the Gift's Myspace page, Hastings "shocked audiences nationwide this year with his authentic and passionate interpretation in performance of the Jam's back catalog."

From the Jam hits select cities in late September on a two-week run. For those who'd prefer to see the man who originally wrote these songs, Weller will be supporting his latest album, '22 Dreams,' with a tour of his own in early September.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers may tap French dance music duo Justice -- Xavier De Rosnay and Gaspard Auge -- to produce its next studio album, according to newspaper The Sun.

Justice manager Pedro "Busy P" Winter," who also runs the duo's label Ed Banger, was quoted as saying that Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis is a big Justice fan who reportedly uses the electronic outfit's music to warm up before RHCP gigs.

For that reason, the rumor could hold merit, although with the Red Hot Chili Peppers currently on a break after their extensive tour in support of 2006's 'Stadium Arcadium', there has been no confirmation from the band's camp. In May, Kiedis told 'Rolling Stone' that the group is "disbanded for the moment".
The RZA, Bobby Steels, the Abbot, Prince Rakeem are all names that the Staten Island bred Wu-Tang beat maker Robert Diggs might present himself as. Most recently coming at you as Bobby Digital, on the heals of his newly-released 'Digi Snacks' album, Digi spat a fresh verse off the cuff to remind everyone that Wu-Tang is still for the children.

Scott Weiland Is a Loogie Man

Additional details of a May interview between Scott Weiland and Los Angeles Times reporter Chris Lee has revealed that the troubled Stone Temple Pilots frontman has a fondness for launching "huge green" loogies at the wall and verbally assaulting members of the media.

During the exchange, which was held in advance of the singer's jail sentence for a November 2007 drunk driving charge (for which he ultimately only served six hours in a Van Nuys lockup), Scott took a cue from Lou "what are you, a f---ing asshole?" Reed. Here's how it went down:

Lee: "How disruptive has it been on band unity to have you going to serve jail time just before reuniting onstage for the first time in five years?"

Weiland: [Spits huge green loogie on the wall that drips down just behind bassist Robert DeLeo and his brother, guitarist Dean DeLeo, who, it must be noted, plays it off like nothing had happened.]

Lee: "Where's your head at right now just before going to jail?"

Weiland: "All these questions are ..., man. Who do you interview? To what level?"
